Waratah Wins "Best Outdoor Equipment Display"
2008-06-19
It's better to be good than lucky, as Waratah Canada showed at the recent Forestry and Trades Convention hosted by the Interior Logging Association. For the sixth time in eight years, Waratah was awarded the "Best Outdoor Equipment Display" at the show, held in May in Kamloops, British Columbia.

At Waratah's exhibit, visitors were greeted by a replica of a 10-year-old replanted forest site complete with a water feature and a dry creek.

The exhibit presented both static and interactive views of the company's current harvester head and attachments lineup.

Two HTH 622B harvesters mounted on forestry excavators provided the backdrop amidst a natural tree setting. Meanwhile, the front of the display boasted a full lineup of Waratah static heads, including an HTH 480 multi-tree handler with an accumulating arm, an HTH 616, HTH 622B, the all-new HTH 624C model, and the enormous HTH 626 BigWood.

The HTH 626 drew particular interest during its brief visit at the show before heading to Vancouver Island, where it was scheduled to cut large second-growth timber for Western Forest Products.

The revised HTH 616S was also a hit with its new and larger high-torque drive motors, larger Waratah Rotator, and its updated SC 100 SuperCut saw unit that eliminates external saw hoses.

The show-stopper was the new C Series 624 harvester, which was exhibited both outdoors and inside Waratah's enclosed tent.

Customers were impressed by the highlights of the C Series 624, including a larger topping saw, a wider frame, a higher-flow Voac valve-bank, an improved sawbox design, as well as numerous other improvements.

Visitors in the tent could also participate in an interactive display – a Waratah Virtual Simulator that allowed them to "operate" a harvester.

In other areas of the tent, numerous product videos and presentations were playing. A full team of Waratah product support and service technicians were on hand to meet customers and provide them with a tour of new products being shown.
